Keith Olbermann's Stalker, apparently...

« on: September 07, 2008, 13:33:02 EDT »

A few of you have been voicing concerns over the recent banning of Darkeforce. The reasons behind his ban are numerous. He has been a rather disruptive influence on this forum for a long time, but beyond that he has also broken numerous rules. He has engaged in flaming and flamebaiting, he has had little to no respect for any other members, he has shown massive disrespect for mod staff (I can provide PMs showing this), and has managed over the years to earn himself more warnings for breaking rules than ANY OTHER MEMBER on this forum.

The moderation staff decided that, since he continued to escalate his behaviour despite numerous warnings, that we should open discussion on his ban. It was discussed for a few days, and then enacted yesterday. Unfortunately it didn't get enacted until AFTER he came back and made a few more posts which were pretty benign in nature. But these posts were not the reason he was banned. This has been coming for a very long time, and we simply cannot allow those who break rules so often to stay. If you have any further concerns, please voice them here.

On one hand, I don't have to contend with my constant foil on this board any more,

on the other hand, I don't have to contend with my constant foil on this board any more.

I feel like Batman without the Joker.

I think my post rate is going to suffer for this, but oh well.

Why do I get the feeling that you're nowhere near the only one who'll feel that way...?

Eh, he made my stay here quite unpleasant at times. Mine might go up.

On the one hand I was surprised that it happened. On the other, I'm surprised it didn't happen sooner.

On the gripping hand, I could say the same about me, considering my actions in the first few weeks of membership.

Well, you've redeemed yourself Medivh. You got your warnings and ceased the bad behaviour. Darke got his warnings and simply waited for them to expire before acting up again. Finally we had just had enough. Especially recently, he'd been getting even worse than before, like he had immunity here and was offended when we suggested he didn't. Personally, i'd had enough of being ordered around and told off by him via PMs, like I was beneath him. I'm sure the couple other mods who dealt with him didn't appreciate it either.

Huh, so maybe it was that hissyfit/slapfight over religion that was the final straw then.  Sounds like the main thing was that he decided he was above Mods.

Well, the hissyfit/slapfight was part of it. Then there was the part about him being above mods and rules. THEN there was all the other times he'd broken rules and gotten warnings. This was not the first time he had been on the brink of being banned for breaking rules, either. It was a variety of things, really. However, the blog topic isn't the place to discuss this, so i'm moving this over to the announcement topic.

I am the only one above the mods and the rules.

I'll set up a system where I count down until each waring and then immediately get another one.  Constant effort will eventually allow me to surpass Darke.

Aaaand apparently Darkie still thinks he's above moderation. I really didn't think he'd pull a multi. Quick catch, though, I don't think he even got to post.

You mean he registered and logged in as a different user?
